More Information About the Caravan & What's Included in the Sale:
We would like to invite you to see our recently refurbished, luxury 8-berth, 12 x 35 foot ABI Roselle holiday home, with full central heating & double glazing on the seafront in Porthcawl, South Wales. In easy reach of The Mumbles and Gower Peninsular, the Brecon Beacons and much more.

There are views out towards the Atlantic, across the Bristol Channel to Somerset and North Devon and closer by, across the bay to Ogmore by Sea. There are blue flag beaches just seconds away from the door with opportunities for sea fishing, water sports, safe bathing with Coastguards on duty or just relaxing on the beach.

There is a double room, 2 twin single rooms (that can be converted easily to doubles) & a pullout double in the living room; there are quilts and pillows on all of the beds but you will need to take your own covers for quilts, bottom sheets & pillow cases. There are also mattress protectors on all of the beds and the bedding for the pullout bed is under the living room seats.

There is ample storage space in all of the rooms under beds & in wardrobes and additional space under the seats in the living room and also outside in lock up sheds, one of which contains a fully plumbed in washing machine.

Outside, you basically go out of the van & you're on the beach. If you head right you go to Porthcawl, around 10 minutes walk to the funfair, bars & amusements etc and another 5 minutes further to the town, just follow the seafront around & you will come to it.

There are plenty of shops including Co-op, butchers, banks etc. If you want a bigger supermarket, Bridgend is a 10 minute drive from the site where there is a large Tesco with petrol and a retail park.

Turn left on the seafront outside the van & you go towards the quieter side (our favourite) just walk along the front again and walk along Beach Rd & in around 10 minutes walk you're in Newton, a quaint village with a beautiful old church and a couple of nice pubs with good food, beer gardens and a park for the kids.

As for Trecco Bay itself, there is everything you need in around 5 minutes walk from the van (nicest route is along the seafront towards Porthcawl & into the entrance with the flags flying into the park) for groceries there's a Costcutter but obviously the supermarkets are cheaper but the fresh bread & French sticks here you can buy still warm and if you don’t care for bathing in the sea, the indoor pool is excellent with a slide, a separate baby & toddler area and full lifeguard supervision.

There is a great bar, The Sportsman with live sport and a large decking area outside where you can watch the kids on the park & splash park; next door is The Coast bar, restaurant with an excellent breakfast, great choice of food throughout the day & evening and carvery on Sunday, there is free Wi-Fi available here too if the kids want to catch up with their friends on Facebook in the evenings..!

There is a large crazy golf and 2 big amusement arcades with wacky warehouse type toddler area and bowling alley. There is then the Showdome if you want evening entertainment there is a Kiddies disco early evening along with Kiddy type entertainment & the main entertainment starts at 8'ish 'til late. There is children’s entertainment here throughout the day too.

The entertainment is all close enough to enjoy if wanted but far enough away not to disturb the sound from the caravan of the waves crashing onto the beach..! You can get a pass for the Showdome, swimming pool & nightclub for £10 per person for a week from reception which is good value as a swim costs £2.50 per person normally.

This also includes access to kids / teens clubs which include activities such as disco’s, pizza making, cinema clubs etc. There's a good chip shop, Costa Coffee and Chicago Town Pizza shop on site; there are other chip shops, Chinese & Indian in Porthcawl too and menus in the info pack; deliveries also available.

I have also put together some other recommendations for eating out, good pubs and days out close by in the info pack which you will find on arrival. There are various shops on site such as a beach shop, gift shop and confectionery. You are spoilt for choice for beaches but you can take your choice with which you choose.

We always go for the quieter one's which are closest anyway & if it's windy and you are looking for shelter, you can usually get it at one of them depending which way the wind is blowing; there are coastguards on duty too.

The beaches are great for bathing, body boarding, surfing, crabbing in the rock pools or fishing and there is a huge expanse of sand when the tide is out, ideal for playing football, cricket etc.

There is a nice walk along the beach on the Newton side to Merthyr Mawr where there are miles of sand dunes with a nature reserve and a pretty thatched village. Margam Country Park is also only 15 minutes drive and is recommended for all of the family, our kids love it but if you want to go a bit further afield the Mumbles is only half an hour drive and the Gower Peninsular a little further along the coast with miles of beautiful beaches to explore. Going the other direction, Cowbridge is another pretty village worth a visit around 20 minutes drive or Cardiff a little further if you like it more lively. There is a large designer outlet in Bridgend, around 15 minutes drive away perfect for a rainy day.

Ogmore by Sea, just across the bay from Porthcawl but around 20 minutes drive away is a picturesque little seaside town and well worth a visit and for Doctor Who fans out there, 5 minutes further around the coast from here is Southerndown where you can find Dunraven Bay; otherwise known as Badwolf Bay seen in a number of episodes but most memorably the final ‘Rose’ episode where she meets ‘The Doctor’ on the beach. There are a number of other locations around the area that you may recognise from filming, including the Castle at Margam Park.

Throughout the summer months there are also afternoon and evening cruises through the Bristol Channel on the famous paddle steamer Waverley, the last sea going paddle steamer in the world and the traditional cruise ship Balmoral from Porthcawl throughout the summer months and even if you don’t get to travel, watch them from the window or decking instead.

There is also an organised firework display each Tuesday night through the summer months which can be viewed across the bay from our decking and is fantastic. I’m sure you will find that there is much more to see and do in Porthcawl and the surrounding area so please do come and see for yourselves…
